Our Birds of Prey

At Sky Raiders we strive to be the very best not only in the way we work and the services we offer but in the way we manage the animals we work with.

Our team are constantly researching new techniques and equipment to further improve the level of care and training we provide to our animals.

We work with all of our birds of prey on a daily basis, to maintain their fitness and health.  Those who are part of the current flying team are provided with the freedom to fly everyday no matter the weather, whilst the rest of the team are allowed to chill out in our specially designed aviaries.

When our birds are not working we encourage their natural habits:

  • The younger birds who are only a few months old, are allowed to fly free for several hours a day to build up their skills and fitness, which we call hacking.
  • Working birds are given a break every year to allow them to moult naturally in large aviaries.
  • When our birds are not working, we practice the art of falconry, which is a using our trained raptors to pursue quarry in its natural state and habitat.
  • Sexually mature birds are given the freedom to bred in large aviaries, in a quite and tranquil cottage garden, with views over the Kentish country side.
  • We allow all breeding pairs are able to build and manage their nest themselves.
  • All hatchlings are left with the parents to be naturally reared, with minimal intervention from humans.

We believe in responsible breeding and only ever introduce new birds to our collection from respectable breeders that meet our high level of expectations.  All birds are sourced via legal channels with all the relevant paperwork and identification rings, which can be available upon request..

Rogue

Rogue

Rogue is a wonderful bird and her enthusiasm for the chase is infectious. Her size is not only menacing but her presence surely gets felt when she arrives on-site.

Budgie

Budgie

Budgie is a major player in our Harris’s Hawk team, he loves to work as a part of our pack. He is quick for the chase when it’s his favourite Quarry and tends to be used for indoor pigeon work for this reason. This boy is loyal to the bone and is happy to work hard for his food, never taking the lazy way out.

Willow

Willow

Willow is the perfect Harris’s Hawk for Pest control with nothing phasing him whilst he is on the job, and when he gets home he is a Falconers best friend with impeccable manners and attitude.

Stig

Stig

The son of Jet and Hope, this little man is already part of the family business. Keen to get up high and soar around, he is perfect member of our team.

Sasha

Sasha

One of the more experienced birds on the team, Sasha may not be as big as a Hybrid or Gryfalcon, but that’s no problem for Sasha - she’ll have a go anyway.

Jet

Jet

Jet is our most experienced bird and is never fazed by any job we throw at him. He is confident, and cunning, and has learnt a fantastic technique to outwit the pest we put him up against.

Gus

Gus

Gus blows us away every time; his speed is phenomenal and just when we think he is at his best he does even better the next day. His ability to negotiate sharp corners without ever slowing down or skipping a beat is frightening - add in the ability to nip through tight gaps at full speed, and we can understand why the pests don’t hang around when chased by Gus.

Shadow

Shadow

Shadow is one of our hybrid falcons taking on traits of multiple species, giving him the perfect edge when managing pest birds.

Ferruginous

Ferruginous

One of our largest birds, this female Ferruginous Hawk is a force you don't want to mess with. Classified by some as the smallest Eagle, this bird will stare you right in the eye whilst on the glove.

Luna

Luna

Luna is a remarkable bird; she might be small and not have the same presence as the big hawks, but that doesn’t stop her. She loves to nip around, chasing smaller quarry and can do it with such grace and precision. She is relentless and will chase her quarry hard, even choosing a head on pursuit on occasion. She regularly lands on the glove when called, not something many falcons tend to do.

Mad Max

Mad Max

Mad max is appropriately named due to his high ferocity and determination to catch his desired prey. He has also been a challenge to train for a harris’s hawk, as he seemed a little aggressive towards Peter only. However, as his training has progressed and his fitness levels increased, he is starting to prove to be an outstanding addition to our team and we are looking forward to what the future holds for this chap.

Monster

Monster

One of our young Tribred Falcons, Monster is aptly named. This bird has a huge attitude and is the perfect size to menace the larger Seagulls.

Gos

Gos

Gos is one of the finest birds we have had the pleasure of training and she has amazed us. Her pest control career started with a bang, showing how effective she was with scaring off Herring and Lesser Black Backed Gulls due to her size, speed and agility. She is a force to be reckoned with and is more than happy to use her skills on a wide variety of pests. We look forward to working with Gos every day.

Pere

Pere

Pere is a Hybrid Falcon who has the speed of a Peregrine with the size and attitude of a Saker Falcon, Pere will have no end of fun helping us keep Feral Pigeons off our clients sites.

What our clients say

Discovery Park

I am over the moon with the contract and how Sky Raiders are helping to resolve our pest issue.  I can honestly say you have achieved more in 3 months than the other company managed in 3 years.

Andy Ronchetti - Estates Manager | Discovery Park
Deal Parochial C.E Primary School

The Sky Raiders team accompanied by a Bird of Prey persuaded our seagulls, without causing them any harm, to find somewhere else to raise their young. A very professional, friendly service, with good results, and at a reasonable price.

Richard Knight - Deal Parochial C.E Primary School
Thanet Waste

Being a Waste Processing Facility situated next to a river we obviously attract unwanted pests. Within no time they had the problem under control and we no longer have pest birds on-site. We will continue to use Sky Raiders and would highly recommend them to anybody else that needs a professional reliable service to deal with these kind of problems

Peter Friend - Director | Thanet Waste
Intercrop Ltd

Excessive amount of pest birds resting on our cropped fields were becoming an issue. Controls such as gas guns were not making an impact other than annoying our residential neighbours, and crop covers were also not deterring them. Since using Sky Raiders, we have seen a significant drop in the numbers of birds flying over and landing on our fields.  It has been beneficial, proactive and well received by our customer.

Vince Payne - Technical Manager | Intercrop Ltd

Mother Nature has the answer!

We specialise in using the most natural method of pest control out there.

Using Birds of Prey to manage Seagulls, Pigeons, Parakeets, Starlings, Blackbirds instils the natural instincts of the pest species not to nest, feed or roost where there is danger.
